What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Boehmers/Cronin Emery Service Experts is here with some of the most typical A/C problems in Kitchener.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioner running but there isn’t cool air coming out, you could need to have your refrigerant levels checked. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air coming out of your air conditioning system is actually cool. Call Boehmers/Cronin Emery Service Experts and we’ll come out and check your refrigerant levels and look into why your air conditioner is not giving off cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

One reason your condenser fan may not be rotating could be that it simply burned out and you have to replace it. Humidity tends to cause more condensation so a second matter to watch for is that the water is not draining correctly or that the drain is obstructed. If you can confirm these things, you may be able to discover the issue; if not, give Boehmers/Cronin Emery Service Experts a call and we can find out what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and discuss your options to get your system working again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering your thermostat. It sounds silly but sometimes we neglect the obvious. If that doesn’t get your system cooling, check the air filter. If the air filter is obstructed, it could cause major cooling troubles. Another issue that could cause your insufficient cooling is that your air conditioner is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a typical issue when homes are constructed. Boehmers/Cronin Emery Service Experts will come out and do an analysis to determine if the size of your system is causing your troubles.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your AC is short cycling, or turning on or off continuously, it could mean one of several things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and requires cleaning. Once the system is cleaned and all blockages removed, you may be back in business. Keep in mind that humidity also plays a piece so if your home cools to the right temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to heat up quickly, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the equipment is having to work harder to keep your home cool.

No matter your trouble, whatever air conditioning trouble you run into, Boehmers/Cronin Emery Service Experts is here for you 24 hours a day so we can get you comfortable quickly.
