Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning takes pride in sending NATE-Certified technicians into customers’ homes in North America every day. While this distinction of being Nate-Certified decidedly sounds reassuring, what does it truly mean?
NATE, an abbreviation for North American Technician Excellence, is the nation’s largest non-profit certification organization for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration technicians. NATE is the certification organization that was established by and has been supported by the entire HVACR industry for nearly 20 years. However, not all technicians in the business have to be NATE-Certified. The certification is elective and technicians can service heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration systems without being NATE-Certified.
It’s a priority for Service Experts that our team is NATE-Certified to make sure we are putting the most experienced technicians into our customers’ homes. To make sure technicians meet these benchmarks, the NATE-Certification exams verify real-world working knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems for technicians. The assessments are knowledge-based exams that measure the technician’s understanding of these guidelines.
Considering Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning focuses largely on the HVAC side of NATE-Certification, our technicians achieve their designations in these areas. However, NATE assessment candidates may obtain certification in one or more of these areas:
- Air Conditioning
- Air Distribution
- Gas Heating
- Oil Heating
- Heat Pumps
- Hydronic Gas (service only)
- Hydronics Oil (service only)
- Light Commercial Refrigeration (service only)
- Commercial Refrigeration (service only)
- Ground Source Heat Pump Loop Installer
- Senior HVAC Efficiency Analyst
