Experts Creating Experts Content Awarding $25,000 to Two Winners

November 06, 2015

We all have interests that we develop throughout our lives. For some it may be a love of landscaping, for others possibly it’s a sport, or if you’re anything like us, it’s heating. Just like we love working to keep you comfortable throughout the year, we also love helping others chase their passions to become experts.

Recently, we completed our “Experts Creating Experts” contest in which we gave away $25,000 to get expertise and education in one thing you are most passionate about. Entries ranged from lifelong dreams of becoming a chef to creating a line of children’s books to encourage. The Grand Prize winners, Mike and Jillian, entered to become expert foragers, accumulating wild plants and foods from nature. After being one of five finalists selected from a number of judges, the public voted through Facebook and now, Mike and Jillian are foraging all around New York and Massachusetts to speak with artisan farmers, a dairy farm and even a distillery.

Make sure to look at the video above and follow them on their journey!

We understand that heating and cooling may not be everyone’s passion, but it is certainly a passion of ours to give back to communities like Kitchener. After all, you have helped make us the heating and cooling experts in this neck of the woods. And for that, we thank you.

Remember them?

Mike and Jillian won $25,000 in Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning’s Experts Creating Experts Contest so they could become expert foragers. Foragers accumulate wild plants and foods from nature.

This fall, they’ll hit the road for the first leg of their trip. Mike & Jillian will be going around New York and Massachusetts meeting small artisan farmers, checking out the High Lawn Farms Dairy, working at the first legal distillery in the Berkshires since Prohibition and learning about extracts from a company in business for 125 years. They’ll even forage for mushrooms. And we’ll be with them, sharing their adventures with you every step of the way.

In January 2016, we’ll head out to California for the next part of their adventure.

Like us on Facebook and Pinterest so you can follow Mike and Jillian on their fun journey.
